Inspired once from Rijk post about Opera installer sizes and famous post about bloat and Opera I decide to do graphs myself. 😀
On the first graph you can see deloping process of Opera 9 (from TP1 to final version). Opera devs managed to add so many new features in just additional ~250 KB over Opera 8.54! Yeah, they also squeezed in some new bugs too! 😉
Significant drop in size in build 8326 (classic installer) – no more Flash plugin.
No more comments – see yourself (bigger versions under links).
How did you make such beautiful graphs? 🙂 Love them!
M$ Excel 2007 😀
Thanks, cool. Looking forward to its release 🙂
I think you may need another line for the MSI – the langauges make most of the bloat!! the classic has far less problems as well….
FataL: Gosh, I tried to import my spreadsheet in Excel 2007 beta, and the grash were mutilated beyond repair: they got the dimension of a postage stamp. Apparently Excel 2007 beta didn’t like it that I put my graphs in separate sheets.
illiad, I have 2 lines on the first graph – one for Opera 9 classic installer, another for MSI multilanguage installer. On the second graph I have these two as points too.
